Dr. Joseph R. Franco is a Professor in the department of Psychology in the Dyson College of Arts & Sciences at Pace University. He serves Director of Clinical Field Supervision and teaches in the doctoral and graduate programs in Mental Health Counseling Programs on the Pleasantville Campus. Dr. Franco is a Counselor Educator, Practicing Clinician, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and Past President of the New York Mental Health Counselors Association (NYMHCA). He continues to serve on the NYMHCA Board as Membership Chair, effective July 1, 2016. Dr. Franco was award the Outstanding Counselor Educator Award by NYMHCA for his outstanding service to the profession and teaching excellence. Dr. Franco has over thirty-five years of combined teaching and administrative experience and has held several key administrative positions in academia, including Senior Associate Dean, Associate Director of the Career Counseling Center, & Director of Freshman Studies, to name a few. Additionally, he has taught a wide range of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level courses in counseling, psychology and sociology, incorporating blended learning approaches as well as web-based components.
