    Desc: Committee canvasses faculty for nomination to key Dyson Faculty Assembly positions, and decides who to nominate for those positions.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: Nominated several outstanding faculty to serve on the Dyson TAP, Sabbatical and Executive Committee positions.
  • Dean's Advisory Council[Committee Member]
    Desc: Attend and provide input to College affairs to Dean and other department heads of Dyson academic departments.
  • Dyson Assembly Curricullum Committee[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee evaluates College majors, minors, new courses, and core curriculum of the University.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: Evaluated and approved or disapproved many new academic programs and courses.
  • Director, Latin American Studies Program[Other]
    Desc: Direct an interdisciplinary academic program in the area of Latin American Studies, in which eight College departments and programs participate.
  • Dyson College Ad Hoc Committee on Interdisciplinary Programs[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee wrote a DFA Constitutional Amendment, which created a framework for the election of directors and other, key aspects of governance of interdisciplinary programs.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The DFA Constitutional Amendment on Interdisciplinary Programs was enacted in 2013.
  • Dyson Sabbatical Review Committee[Committee Chair]
    Desc: The DYSAB committee reviews and makes recommendations on faculty applications for sabbatical leaves. It is a key Dyson peer review committee on scholarly activity.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee awards many sabbatical leaves each year, providing the College faculty a vital source of time to conduct research and publication.


  • Provost's Task Force on 120 Credit Proposal[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee deliberated on authorizing faculty support for the Provost's 120 credit degree proposal.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee made recommendations to the Provost and Faculty Council, re: the 120 credit proposal. The committee has been in recess but may still be called back into session.
  • Fulbright Scholarship Selection Committee[Committee Member]
    Desc: Evaluated Fulbright scholar applicants and made collective decision on whether to approve candidates for scholarship.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: Several applicants were approved and ultimately won the scholarship.
  • President's Hispanic Initiative Task Force[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee met repeatedly and deliberated on proposals to recruit and retain more Hispanic students.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee approved several proposals to improve the process of recruiting Hispanic students, and developed new methodologies to recruit and retain this growing sector of the US population.
  • New York Faculty Council Curriculum Committee[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee evaluates and decides whether to approve new academic programs, including undergraduate and graduate programs; core curriculum and other curricular matters affecting the University.
  • New York Faculty Council Ad Hoc Committee on Revision of Faculty Grievance Procedure[Chairperson]
    Desc: Committee deliberated on and made recommendation re: provostial proposal to revise faculty grievance procedure, to strip faculty of the right to a hearing empanelled by faculty peers.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee performed a vital service in retaining for faculty the right to a hearing jury empaneled by faculty peers, re: Administration efforts to dismiss tenured faculty members.
  • New York Faculty Council Faculty Grievance Committee[Committee Chair]
    Desc: Committee heard faculty and student grievances against faculty members, and recommended action to the President.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee heard several grievances, gathered evidence and made recommendations to the President. The committee plays a vital role in protecting faculty rights against improper disciplinary action and/or dismissal or suspension.
  • Board of Trustees Auding Committee[Committee Member]
    Desc: The committee deliberates on University budget issues.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee made recommendations to the President and Provost, re: budget issues.
  • Search Committee, Executive Director of Enrollment Management[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee screened and interviewed short list of candidates for University Executive Director of Enrollment Management.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee chose two candidates for selection by the President, who hired one of those candidates to the position.
  • Provost's Task Force on Global Centers[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee considered and made recommendations on the President's proposals for new Pace Global Centers, which are overseas international "branches" of the University.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee made final recommendations, which the President implemented by launching several new global centers.
  • Scholarly Research Committee, New York Faculty Council[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee deliberated on faculty proposals for financial assistance and/or released time, to complete programs of research and publication.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee approved more than 25 applications, most of which resulted in new publications for New York faculty members. It is a vital part of the university infrastructure in support of faculty research and publication.
  • Provost's Task Force on Internationalization of Curriculum[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee developed proposals to enhance the international scope ("internationalization") of Pace programs and curriculum.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: Several of the committee's recommendations were implemented by the Provost and are now part of the curriculum.
  • American Assn. of University Professors, Pace University Branch[President]
    Desc: The AAUP is the foremost professional association of US faculty, which creates and defends key standards of faculty governance, academic freedom and other, major areas of faculty rights.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee met repeatedly to consider complaints of faculty mistreatment or violation of academic freedom, and acted on those complaints.
  • Committee of Deans and Faculty for Promotion and Tenure (CDFPT)[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee considers, deliberates on and makes recommendations to approve or decline faculty applications for promotion and/or tenure.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee issued recommendations for a large number of candidates. The President approved 100% of the committee's recommendations.
  • CDFPT Appeals Committee[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee receives, deliberates on and makes recommendations to accept or reject faculty appeals of the findings of the CDFPT, re: applications for tenure and/or promotion.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: The committee made recommendations on several faculty appeals. The President accepted the Committee's recommendations on two candidates, and reversed the CDFPT's recommendations.
  • International Education Planning Committee[Committee Member]
    Desc: Committee considered proposals to enhance internationalization of the Pace curriculum and academic programming.
    Committee's Key Accomplishments: Several of the committee's proposals were implemented by the President, resulting in an improved international component in the curriculum.
