Welcome to the MS in Publishing program located at Pace University’s Downtown Campus at 156 William St.
For over 30 years, the program has worked with students who want to acquire the skills, experience, and industry contacts that can help them build a career in publishing. Pace University’s MS in Publishing Program equips students with the expertise necessary to launch and maintain successful careers in the dynamic publishing and interactive media industries.
The MS in Publishing program provides students with comprehensive hands-on training in every aspect of book and magazine publishing and digital media: content creation and editing, marketing strategies, book and magazine production, financial applications, and all aspects of digital publishing. The curriculum reflects the most current industry trends, where students can explore publishing in a variety of formats, including print, e-books, apps, mobile platforms, and developing and writing for blogs and websites.
Our faculty are experienced publishing professionals employed in every area of publishing in both books and magazines as well as media and digital-only companies. They work closely with students, adding variety and excitement to classroom discussions with their own experiences and perspectives on the industry.
With a location in the heart of the publishing capital of the world, students have access to internships at major publishers and the program is able to recruit top experts from virtually every field of publishing as adjunct faculty members and guest speakers.
Internships give students an opportunity to apply their knowledge in the real world. Through the internship courses, our program helps students gain valuable industry knowledge and experience in hands-on positions. In addition to interning at book and magazine publishers, our students intern at literary agencies, academic publishers, independent presses, digital-only publishers, and in a variety of companies that are flourishing in the digital age.
