The Society of Fellows of Dyson College of Arts and Sciences is the premier honors organization in the college. The Society fosters undergraduate scholarship in the arts and sciences by providing enriching experiences for students with outstanding academic ability. Participation and membership in the Society of Fellows offers students opportunities to develop their critical thinking skills, and intellectual and artistic creativity as part of a supportive academic community.
Each fall the Society hosts a Weekend Seminar where students, faculty, and alumni discuss an important topic in a casual setting in upstate New York. At the Society’s Annual Meeting held in early spring each year, students present their faculty-mentored scholarly research and artistic projects. New members are recognized at the annual Initiation Ceremony held in late spring each year. In 2018, Jean F. Coppola Class is the first named “in memoriam,” honoring Coppola, a Seidenberg professor who passed away in 2017. Nancy L. Hale, Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems, presented the keynote address, praising the life of her former colleague.
Transactions of the Society of Fellows of Dyson College is the official journal of the Society. Peer-reviewed by Dyson faculty, the journal publishes the work of Pace University students completed under the sponsorship of faculty who often are Fellows.
